Church Family Update...

  • Adult Bible Class… Mike Swaim will be completing his Bible Class today. We thank him for his hard work. We encourage you to make Bible Classes an important priority for your family. Sowing the seeds of the Kingdom is one of the most important things we can do to bless our families and ourselves. Nathan Frisk will be teaching in May.

  • Nicaragua news… We continue to share short snap shots of the recent trip we took to Nicaragua. A remarkable number from the Dalton Gardens church made the trip and made memories they will remember for the rest of their lives.

  • June 3 will bring our first annual Senior Saints Brunch… The Borsheim's are graciously providing their home for the event. The Senior Saints Leadership Group will be passing the word about what to bring. Senior Saints generally are those who are 50 and up… but it is open to anyone who wants to be involved with this fun group. The brunch will run Saturday, from 10:30am to 1:30pm.

Family Spotlight...

The Sandes' Nicaragua Diaries
I feel very grateful and blessed for being able to go on this trip, especially being able to take the kids with Corrie and I. It was a lot of work while we were there, but in my opinion it was well worth it. I really went there to show the kids how different life can be and to be thankful for the blessings we have here. We learned more than that! It was such a blessing to be able to work with the people there. Personally, I think that the most fulfilling part was the water filters. To help these families who are drinking filthy water be able to drink water that is 99% E. coli free was huge. It will forever change their health and ability to drink good water. The kids learned the lesson we wanted them to, and I too was reminded of how happy you can be with so little, are we really the blessed ones? I would recommend everyone take their kids on a trip of service like this if they can. I promise it will change their lives forever in a good way. All of us cannot wait to go back to serve again, and Lord willing we will be on the next trip in 2019.

Alex (age 10)
I really enjoyed being able to meet and play with the kids from Nicaragua, although sometimes it was weird not being able to talk with them. I thought that being able to do water filters was cool, and we were able to help those families. I am grateful that we got to go and help those people. I really liked working with Nicolas and Jamilton (Hamilton). They always smiled while we worked. I learned that you can be happy with having little stuff. Next time I hope to work the mobile library more and make more water filters.

When we first heard about the Nicaragua trip I made the comment to Heath I wanted to go, and I wanted to take the kids. There wasn’t much discussion on if we could afford it or not, we figured God would provide one way or another. Our motives for going were simple: We wanted to serve others, do God’s will, and teach our children some life lessons along the way. I am truly amazed by the way my kids stepped up to work, and I couldn’t be more proud of both of them. Because of this trip I have gained another family that before only existed through simple, Sunday morning hellos and handshakes. I feel so much more at home in the church now because of the friendships I made with those whom I’d never even spoke to before. I am truly humbled by all God blessed me with on the trip and it will forever leave a footprint in my heart. I can hardly wait for the next opportunity.

Makena (age 14)
Going to Nicaragua was a really great experience. We got to meet lots of new people and even got together with their youth group which was really cool. I also got to go work with a lot of the kids down there which was really fun. I am grateful that we got the opportunity to go, and I learned that there are a lot of people that don’t have as much as we do and don’t have the some privileges that we do. I can’t wait to go back next time, and to make it a bit easier I want to take Spanish in school to help be able to communicate better.
