Church Family Update...

  • Good Morning! Today we will discover the congregation’s interest in the Blessing Our Neighbor effort. You will be asked on the Communication Card, to indicate “Count Me IN.” Those saying “Count Me IN” will be looking for opportunities to bless a neighbor in some Godly way in the coming months. The list of people saying “Count Me IN” will not be published anywhere, but the elders, the outreach and mission deacons, and the ministry staff are committed to praying for each person by name who is trying to bless their neighbor.

  • Be a good neighbor… Please remember if you miss any of the WON BY ONE lessons due to illness or being out of town, you can catch up by listening online. Not comfortable with a computer? Then just ask the office to make a CD for you. There will be no charge. We want every member to have a copy of the booklet: B.L.E.S.S. The church office can help with that also.

  • Senior Saints Christmas Celebration… December 9 from 11 to 1:30 at the Coeur d’Alene Inn. We need those planning to come to the event to sign up at the Welcome Desk so we can get a count on the food. We will have a salad and dessert bar and a small gift exchange. If you have questions see Sally Archer.

  • Remember Our Food Pantry…. The holiday season is approaching! We always have a run on vegetables, stuffing, cranberry sauce, canned pie filling, and so on in November. Let’s be generous in stocking up.

  • Calling all Middle-Age Saints… This is a Christmas party for anyone who wants to attend, but specifically aimed at those younger than the Senior Saints at Keith & Carole Fredrikson’s home, 6pm, December 15th. Pot-luck finger food, bring a white elephant gift...more info to come.

Youth Ministry News...

Teen Service Project THIS Saturday, November 18th! We’ll meet at the Barn at 10am and work until around 3pm (with a free lunch break). The weather will factor into how we end up serving, but we’ll figure something out. We’re open to suggestions from members too!
Winter Jam is NEXT Sunday! We’ll leave at 3:30 and get back around 11:00pm. Cost is $15 plus extra for dinner. Sign up today if you plan to ride with us so we can make sure we have enough space in the van.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 26th, for our monthly teen/parent family dinner and devotional. Check back here next week for time and location details.

Family Spotlight...

Blessing our neighbor begins with listening rather than talking. Jesus often engaged with people by asking them a question or loving them through conversation. When people are heard and understood, they feel safe and valued.

So get curious and ask good questions. Listen deeply to people’s dreams and pain. What’s more, listen for evidence of God’s work in their lives so you may participate in the work God is already doing. Listen well and you will discover how to bless your neighbor.
  Listen with care
Conversation starters:
  • Do you think about spiritual things much?
  • As we approach the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons do they bring back spiritual memories from your past?
  • Do you think there is a God? What would you like God to do most if He were real for you?
  • What kind of experiences have you had with Christians in the past (good or bad)?
Ask 2 or 3 Christian friends to pray that you will have a good conversation with your neighbor
