Church Family Update...

  • Highway Clean-Up… It’s time again to make plans to join us for the Fall Hwy 95 Clean-Up. October 20 at 10am. It usually takes about two hours from start to finish. The more who show up the faster the work gets done. For INFO-Bill Roush.

  • Our Primary Mission as followers of Christ… It is to “seek and save the lost.” This is our primary mission because it is Christ’s primary mission (LK 19:10). We are committed to blessing our neighbors here, and we have two wonderful opportunities this month. Our Community Prayer Breakfast is next Saturday beginning at 7am. Our CCS Sunday is set for October 28. Please pray for these events and participate.

  • Nicaragua Trip… The elders announced last Sunday that our mission trip set for March 2019, has been moved to March 2020. Our elders adjusted the mission trip to allow recent political compromises to settle, however Misión Para Cristo continues to train preachers, operate medical clinics, plant new congregations, and bless children and their families. Our shepherds donated a portion of our outreach funds to support these activities, but more funds are needed. So our elders encouraged DGChurch members to also donate funds to sustain the work of Misión Para Cristo. If you wish to help out, just give your check to any elder, Jeff, or Michael.

  • Mike Swaim is teaching the adult Bible Class this month… It is about “Hope.” Check it out.

  • Grief Share… This important small group takes place on Tuesdays at 6:00pm in the conference room. Please call the office or see Dale Herboldt for more details.

  • LIFEgroups Matter… Develop stronger relationships with other Christians, and strengthen our congregation by being part of a LIFEgroup. Our groups are listed on the back of this Family News; you may call any of the leaders for more INFO.

  • Thanks to all who helped… The Shaver family expresses their thanks to all who helped with yesterday’s memorial for Andra Uecke (Dee’s daughter). Many people have assisted in different ways to support the family during this difficult period of grieving. Thank you for your love and compassion.

Please keep Jeff and our youth in your prayers as they travel home from the Apple Cider Press Youth Rally today. Parents can pick their students up around 5:00pm. Ask those who attended about their experience the next time you see them.
If any of our 6th-12th grade students have band, choir, or orchestra concerts, drama productions, or sporting events coming up between now and the end of the year please let Jeff know. We’d like to get a schedule of extra-curricular activities going that our youth can attend to encourage and support one another. Just text or email Jeff to let him know.
All teens are encouraged to come help us clean up the trash along our adopted highway mile on Saturday, October 20th. We’ll meet at the church building at 10:00am then head over to our stretch of Highway 95. Trash bags and safety vests are provided, but you’ll want to bring some gloves and good shoes. Teens who serve with us will be treated to lunch!
